Thread forming (spin drive) fittings, have special tapered drive threads for fast production line installation in untapped hole, saving the tapping cost. A leakproof permanent seal is formed because the installation force causes the material of the untapped hole to reshape conforming to the fittings contour. Use in heat-treated parts is not recommended.
